Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo is a Threat to National Security

At first, Tancredo's remarks (the sound bites) seemed like something you'd hear from a drunk in a bar. I read the transcript and realize that the context might justify what he said in some insane way, but he still should make an immediate retraction.

Almost no one will read the transcript. In the Muslim world's instantaneous communication network, Colorado Springs is now a target, a hot point. They are hearing: "Tancredo is the American Caliph who advocates nuking The Holy City." Our men and women in the military, and our homeland, will now be hated and targeted more than ever, because of careless remarks by someone with no military experience, and who obviously has no concept of a world outside of his parochial Midwestern ghetto. It's fine for Tom to throw grenades at the enemy from his bunker in the mountains, but what about our troops?

Our children are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan, or getting their arms and legs blown off, and (Freshman) Congressman Tandredo now sees fit to defend his remarks, mimicking the idiotic, myopic defiance of the current occupant of the Oval Office.

His continued defense of his remarks is like throwing gasoline on the fire of Jihad. Being wrong, and being defiantly wrong, seems to be the current tactic of the Republican Party, and puts the United States and our interests in greater danger every moment.

He should make an immediate retraction of his dangerous, incendiary remarks - Support Our Troops.

God Bless America and Save Us From the NeoCons

Campbell: Worst case scenario, if they do have these nukes inside the borders and they were to use something like that -- what would our response be?

Tancredo: What would be the response? You know, there are things that you could threaten to do before something like that happens and then you may have to do afterwards that are quite draconian.

Campbell: Such as... Tancredo: Well, what if you said something like -- if this happens in the United States, and we determine that it is the result of extremist, fundamentalist Muslims, um, you know, you could take out their holy sites . . .

Campbell: You're talking about bombing Mecca.

Tancredo: Yeah. What if you said -- what if you said that we recognize that this is the ultimate threat to the United States -- therefore this is the ultimate threat, this is the ultimate response. I mean, I don't know, I'm just throwing out there some ideas because it seems to me . . . at that point in time you would be talking about taking the most draconian measures you could possibly imagine and because other than that all you could do is once again tighten up internally.
